Eating Lentil & Sweet Potato Cakes
Looking back, it was possibly the worst day ever to have such a yearning. Today Melbourne had a massive heat wave. The temperature scorched to the 40’s and contact with sun was a pungent sting. But hey, apparently materialistic, superficial clothing was of great importance to me that day as the summer burn did not prevent me. “I will not prevail to the weather” I must’ve said, “Superficiality is clearly of value here” I must’ve said…
All in all, I didn’t get any clothes. Surprisingly, I didn’t give a damn about getting new clothes. Looking at vintage clothing items one by one was far too much effort… All I wanted was to get outta here and cool off. Our faces were priceless - completely distorted by heat, mouths open, waterfalls derived from sweat streaming down our faces and with each walking step our faces worsened. We felt like we were the messiah during the 40th day in the dessert.
Finally, we stoped by this quaint café and had lunch. Thank the Lord. I swear if we had to take another step, that would be the end of it - I could feel sweat dripping down my neck and the state of my hair would make my hairdresser go into hysterics.
Lesson of the day - the heat can change you into an atrocious beast and NEVER go thrift shopping when it’s 30 or above.
You’re welcome,
