Coconut Ice Cream Milkshakes & Parfaits
I think I'm about halfway through my uni semester break and after watching Have You Been Paying Attention and Neighbours, I feel the need to vent my spleen and carry out an activity that does not involve binge watching Australian tv shows which is the result of this blog post...
If you're one of the very few Melborunians who aren't in Europe and the winter months are essentially killing your soul, be not afraid for I have come up with a much more affordable, snazzy way to pretend that it's summer...
HOW you ask?
Well friend, I think the quickest way of doing this is having summer desserts. And yes, the weather is crappy but HEY you have a warm bed and winter pajamas to look after you....
In saying that, I was abolsutely stoked to hear about Over The Moo which is a coconut ice cream company providing a range of dairy free alternatives to ice cream! The have a variety of flavours and I tried their Mango, Chocolate, Vanilla and Caramel and loved them! My family also loved them too and to my dad, I'm sorry for getting annoyed when you ate nearly all of the "I fell for Caramel" flavour - but can you blame me? It had salted caramel sauce and chunks of toffee in it. CHUNKS. OF. TOFFEE.
My escalating infatuation with their ice cream resulted in me getting a tad experimental in the kitchen and this happened...
Chocolate Milkshake
- 3 scoops of Over The Moo Choc! Choc! Who's there
- 2/3 cup almond milk or milk of your choice
Optional:
- vegan chocolate sauce, I used the recipe from here.
Method:
1. Blend all ingredients into a blender until well combined. Enjoy!
Tutti Fruity Parfait
- 1/4 cup oats
- 2 scoops of Over The Moo mmMangoo
- 1/4 cup blended frozen berries
- 1/2 of a passionfruit
- thinly sliced strawberries
Method:
1. Layer ingredients in a jar or glass. Enjoy!
Vanilla Milkshake
- 3 scoops of Over The Moo Vanilla Bean Missing You
- 2/3 cup almond milk or milk of your choice
Optional:
- vegan chocolate sauce
Method:
1. Blend all ingredients into a blender until well combined. Enjoy!
Caramel & Chocolate Parfait
- 1 scoop of Over The Moo I fell for Caramel
- 1 scoop of Over The Moo Choc! Choc! Who's There
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1/2 of a kiwi, thinly sliced
- thinly sliced strawberries
- chunks of dark chocolate
Method:
1. Layer ingredients in a jar of glass. Enjoy!
