What is matcha?
Matcha is a type of green tea from Japan. It’s traditionally used in Japanese ceremonies and by Buddhist monks. Unlike normal dried tea leaves which are soaked in hot water, matcha is grounded into a powder and is then dissolved in water. It’s been described as having ‘a rich, naturally sweeter flavour’ than green tea and because it’s not soaked in water like normal tea leaves and eaten as a whole, matcha contains more nutrients than normal green tea- making it even more nutrient-rich and oh so good for you!
